Above is the beautiful Wedding Slideshow that came with Jenn and Craig’s wedding package. It was created from a selection of their best photos captured on their special day and mixed to one of their favourite songs.

Getting Ready

Their wedding day started out with the gondola ride up to the base of the Mountain. While Amy and I were enjoying a leisurely ride up the mountain we could already tell that it was going to be a beautiful day. With the sun brightly shining down from a clear blue sky even though it was winter it was already feeling warmer than usual.

Once we arrived at the base we met up with Craig and his guys in one of the groomsmen’s rooms. Everyone was in good spirits and we were able to capture Craig opening the watch that Jenn gave him as a wedding gift.

Then we were off to meet up with Jenn and her entourage. After photographing the makeup wrapping up and all the details like her necklace, shoes and bouquet Jen got into her dress with the help of her mom. The bride wanted to do a first look with her bridesmaids which we captured when she came out to see them for the first time.

The First Look

With Jenn all ready we contacted Katie Johnson the mountains wedding planner to make sure Craig was in place at the log cabin for their first look. This was a really touching moment that we held on the balcony of the cabin. Their expressions when they turned around and saw each other for the first time said it all and we were really lucky to be a part of that moment.

The Ceremony

The ceremony was held at the edge of a ridge on a ski-out just off the main gondola. Katie and her team did such a fantastic job, with rose petals leading to the alter, violinists playing and a spectacular view. After the ceremony Jenn and Craig signed their marriage documents and we went off to the lodge to warm up a little and do family photos.

The Creative Formals

After the family formals we captured a couple wedding party photos in lounge in front of, one of the resorts beautiful stone fireplaces and just outside their beautiful, naturally lit wine cellar. The whole ski hill closes down at 4pm but they were kind enough to keep Standish open so we could ride the ski lift to the top of the mountain for sunset at 5:30pm. It was so beautiful at the summit, it felt like we were on top of the world and there was a super fun snowmobile ride down the mountain once we were done.

The Reception

The reception was held in the Eagles Nest Lounge and was beautifully decorated for the bride and groom. They even had an ice bar outside for us where they served everyone champaign. At the reception there was a marshmallow toss to get the bride and groom to kiss, a rustic candy bar, a snowboard for everyone to sign and all the flowers were provided by Agenda.

After dinner and the reception we slipped out with the bride and groom to capture some pretty amazing fire night shots in the open snow. We almost didn’t get these shots as it was so cold the flint on our lighter wouldn’t light but Katie and the sunshine staff came to the rescue with a blow torch. However that too, was almost not powerful enough.

The night finished off at trappers the mountain pub with the entire wedding party and all the staff. It was definitely a night to remember.

Day After Session – Skiing & Snowboarding

You might think that is where the story ends however Craig and Jenn booked us for an early morning skiing shoot. We were all out on the mountain after a hearty breakfast and we were able to capture some great shots of the bride and groom, all dressed up, rippin’ up the mountain.

We are so excited to receive their beautiful Diamond series wedding album, with it’s lay flat, flush style press printed pages and custom leather cover. We also will be printing one of their images to our new stunning Acrylic prints that a printed with a metallic ink, then a 1/4 inch think piece of high grade acrylic glass is adhered to the front. These and their other prints will truly be beautiful additions to their home.
