An Epic Contemporary First Dance

Above is the beautiful Wedding Slideshow that came with Amanda and Tony’s wedding package. It was created from a selection of their best photos captured on their special day, mixed to their weddings song Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran.

Amanda and Tony Getting Ready

Their wedding day started out at their home where Amanda, her mom and her maid of honour were getting ready. The beautiful summer morning was complimented by refreshing champaign and fresh strawberries. Once Amanda was in her wedding dress that she found at The Bridal Centre and was designed by Sottero and Midgley we were off the Hotel to meet up with Tony and his best man for a few quick photos.

Their Ceremony at the Marriot Courtyard

Just before we started their beautiful ceremony we got to capture a really special moment with the bride and groom. We place them between a wall each on either side so they can’t see each other. This way they can share a couple words with one another before they are standing at the alter. This is rapidly becoming one of my most favourite things as it is such a tender and touching moment. Their ceremony was a beautiful one, with a couple laughs, a few tears and a beautiful couple at the heart of it all. After the ceremony we found a really cool back drop next to their elevator bay which goes to show that any place can be a great pace for photos.

The Creative Formals in Pearce Estate Park

There wedding timeline was rather tight and didn’t leave us a lot of time for formals but Pearce Estate Park delivers exceptional diversity which made it perfect for their wedding photos. We started off at the entrance to the park and worked our way through the pathways ending at the foot of the Bow River. The new weirs that have been built make for some pretty spectacular image compositions.

Back at the hotel the reception got underway and let me tell you the union of a Ukrainian family and an Italian family makes for one incredible celebration. From the mouth watering dinner that the Marriot’s banquette staff prepared, to the traditional Ukrainian celebration called “Presentation” where the bride and groom thanked each guest and then presented them with gift wrapped piece of cake prepared by the culinary master Alison Lafrance. This may all sound impressive but it was all trumped by Tony and Amanda’s first dance where they preformed the choreography from the Thinking Out Loud music video by Ed Sheeran. All of this was accented by beautiful flowers arranged by Phillip Chong’s Flower Bar.
