The Haymour’s Wedding Formals at Calgary’s Elliston Regional Park

Their Ceremony at Eastside City Church

We spent a short and sweet afternoon at the Eastside City Church in Calgary photographing the Haymour’s intimate wedding. Both Candis and Ramaz attend this church, so it made for the perfect location to hold their ceremony. In a private ready room, Candis had her makeup and hair done by Christina Kemp with Modern Makeovers.

The ceremony began with Candis walking down the petal-strewn aisle, in a gorgeous, flowing, halter style dress. The couple had a nice quaint civil service in the Prayer Room, officiated by Mr. Todd Swisher. The room was decorated with rose petals and a lovely blush paper-flower backdrop. In the rear corner stood their beautiful three-tier wedding cake.

The Family Sand Ceremony

They incorporated a sand ceremony into the service, making sure to include their children in the ritual. Each member of the family poured a different color of sand into the jar, until there was a beautiful mix of color. This symbolized the unity of their family.

After the ceremony, a selection of the Haymour’s favorite foods was set out. The couple spent some time speaking and mingling with their guests as newlyweds. They also took the opportunity to have a bite to eat before the cake cutting

We shared the day with Ferdi Flancia Films, a Calgary videography company. The husband and wife team were fantastic to work with. We stuck together all day, and worked together to get some amazing shots and video of the wedding.

The Creative Formals in Elliston Regional Park

We started the formals in the church with the Haymour’s and their children. We took a few family portraits before heading outside of the church, where we took some shots of the family walking out into the sunlight.

A Tender Private First Dance in the Park

We then headed to Elliston Regional Park, just off of 17th avenue and 64th street in Calgary. We spent about an hour in the park, where we took several gorgeous shots of the couple while the children played around the pond. In a tender moment, Candis and Ramaz had a private first dance. She brought along her iPhone to play their wedding song while they danced between the trees, in front of the glassy pond.

The day before the wedding, Calgary had been hit with a big rainstorm, and puddles still stood in the park. We used these remaining puddles to our advantage, where we set reflections of Candis and Ramaz in the still water.

We wrapped up our day with several more photos of the family in front of a grove of trees. Here they shared a few intimate family moments on their special day.
