The Hong’s Engagement Session at Calgary’s Fish Creek Park

An Early Spring Session

Our Wednesday morning began at Tina and Bryan’s house. On our arrival we were greeted by Willow, the couple’s cute and friendly dog. The morning was very relaxed. Tina spent the a.m. in hair and makeup, under the talented brush of Christina Kemp with Modern Makeovers.

While Tina was having her hair and makeup done, we took a few close up shots of Tina’s gorgeous diamond and gold rings. We then photographed Tina’s engagement ring and matching band alongside Bryan’s solid black wedding band.

The Engagement Session at Fish Creek Park

We headed out from the house to Fish Creek Park, the largest urban park in the city of Calgary. It was a cool and overcast day, despite the previous week being warm and sunny. When the sun finally peeked out from behind the clouds, it cast beautiful patches of light on Tina and Bryan. The dancing light made for wonderful photographs.

We walked to the edge of Fish Creek Park, through Hulls Wood and by the empty Sikome Lake. Nearby we found a field with an amazing grove of trees. The creek beds were still dry, and they made amazing locations for the shoot. Tina and Bryan even found a log to balance on for a few fun shots.

After a wardrobe change we came upon an open field. We spent some time taking a few long distance shots. In the golden field we took an epic shot of Tina’s scarf blowing in the wind.

Next we took a long walk to the edge of the Bow River, at the south end of Fish Creek Park. The entire area has been washed out with the floods, creating a unique terrain that is rocky and bare. The last stop of the day was right at the edge of the river, the flowing water of the Bow River as the backdrop.
