A Rather Blustery Smokey Wedding Day

Above is the beautiful Wedding Slideshow that came with Carmen and Grant’s wedding package. It was created from a selection of their best photos captured on their special day, mixed to their weddings song God Bless the Broken Road by Rascal Flatts which was sung by the Bride.

The wedding day started out with Grant and all this groomsmen at Kevin and Anna’s house. When we arrived the guys were dressed to the nines sitting at the kitchen table enjoying a couple cold coors’ before the day started. the average style home had incredible architecture that we made use of in the photos even found a little castle to use in the photos. After we finished with the Guys it was off to the Deerfoot Inn and Casino http://deerfootinn.com where the bridal party was busy helping carmen get ready for her big day. Carmen’s dress had a blue lace up corset and was intended to make her look like a princess and boy did it ever. She looked like she was straight out of a fairy tale.

Their Ceremony at the Riverview Bed & Breakfast

With the bride and groom ready it was time to start the ceremony. The ceremony was set to start early afternoon and on this special day it was a rather blustery windy day. Because of the high winds and forest fires in BC there was a thick haze of smoke that had descended on the Calgary region. This made for some spectacular images as the entire Sheep River valley had a magical dreamy look to that perfectly complimented their wedding theme. After the ceremony we were treated to a Smudging ceremony in front of the entrance to Bed and Breakfast.

The Creative Formals along the Countryside of the Alberta Prairies

The formals started out on the Property of the Riverview Bed and Breakfast using the old classic car on the east end of the property, the beautiful alley way of trees lining the entrance and the Sheep River Valley that the entire property over looks. After we had finished there we were off to a private farm nestled between Calgary and Okotoks that had a tremendous red barn. We recreated some awesome photos from a rendition of the American Gothic painting done by painter Grant Wood in the 1930’s to a shot in the stable of Grant wearing a Knight’s helmut. The entire formal session was accented by the classic cars the couple was using for transportation through out the day.

The Wiste Reception at the Shepard Community Hall

This beautiful community hall is found in the Shepard Township which is a community of families that shares a strong history dating back to the early 1900’s when it was a railroad station. The Wiste reception was no small affair as the couple drew in nearly 300 guests that came to celebrate the union of Carmen and Grant. They had a beautiful cake created by Ruhi Bakery and the hall and head table was accented by flowers arranged by Dee Vine Petals with the decor being planned by Barb Williams. This all lead up to an amazing choreographed dance that the entire wedding party preformed to kick of the dance portion of the evening lead by the DJ’s at Fun Factory.
