Unique Engagement Shoot at the Original Craft Beer Market

These are some of the beautiful images from Amy and Aaron’s engagement session with our studio. We started our morning at Amy’s apartment where our Makeup and Hair stylist Christina got to work right away at making her look fabulous.

Amy’s Engagement Ring

We began our day bright and early at Amy and Aaron’s house. While Amy was having her hair and makeup done by Christina with Modern Makeovers, we took the opportunity to take a few photos of Aaron’s wedding ring and Amy’s engagement ring.

The Engagement Session at Craft Beer Market, Downtown Calgary

Craft Beer Market on 10th avenue in downtown Calgary provided the main stage for our photoshoot. This location is home to the original Craft Beer Market, and they have seen tremendous success in the past few years branching out to Edmonton, Vancouver, and Ottawa. Help from Bethany, Cassandra, Delco, and Melissa at Craft Beer Market was greatly appreciated, since collectively they made sure that the shoot went off without a hitch. The restaurant itself provided us with a wonderful backdrop for the engagement session. The bar at Craft Beer Market features steel pipes that run into the keg room, and this gave us some very unique shots. Timber planks feature in the restaurant décor, and they really work to compliment the rustic industrial feel of the space. We also took advantage of the stairwell to bounce light around, creating a cool and edgy effect. The keg room was featured in our shoot as well, and it was also a great spot for some interesting lighting.

For an entertaining change of pace we decided to take some shots of the couple over drinks. The unfiltered and citrusy Shocktop Belgian White is currently Amy and Aaron’s favourite brew, Craft was kind enough to provide them each with a pint and we proceeded to take awesome photos of them with it!

We finished the remainder of the day in a parkade on 10th avenue, where we used the Calgary skyline and the exceptional angles of the parkade to great effect.
